D’Aulaires’ Greek Myths

Description: An introduction to the characters and events of Greek mythology using the time-tested D’Aulaires’ Greek Myths text. This class will introduce your students to all sorts of characters through the entertaining and exaggerated stories of the Greek gods. Students will learn famous names, key events, classical geography, vocabulary, and fact drills through the use of comprehension questions, memorization, vocabulary, drawing, and picture review. Students will need to devote 30 minutes per day for this class. The grade is based on participation, quizzes, and a final test. In-class typing is minimal for younger students and the instructor will make use of the microphones in class.

Grade Level: 3-5 (ages 8-11)

Prerequisites: None

Required Materials: D’Aulaires’ Book of Greek Myths, Student Guide and Teacher Guide. Flashcards are optional. Students will also need a USB headset microphone (built-in microphones also work).
