Geometry

Description: This class offers a rigorous introduction to geometry. Students will study parallel lines and planes, congruent triangles, quadrilaterals, inequalities and indirect proofs, polygons and similar triangles, circles, basic trigonometry, among other topics. Homework, quizzes, and tests will be submitted by scanning and uploading, avoiding the technical problems and lack of personal feedback associated with “automatically graded” math quizzes.

Grade Level: 9-12 (ages14-18)

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Algebra I

Required Materials: Geometry by Ray C. Jurgensen, Richard G. Brown, John W. Jurgensen. Students will also need a USB headset (built-in microphones also work). Some kind of scanner will be needed. Conventional scanners are fine, but if parents have a smart phone, they can convert pictures taken with a smart phone to PDF documents. Then it can be emailed directly to the instructor.
