The Latin Forum

Description: In our Latin Forum, students will have the opportunity to explore the Latin language and the culture and history in which it evolved. Latin students of all levels will enjoy the opportunity to speak Latin and hear it spoken as they converse with classmates and a master teacher using art, architecture, and literature to focus their discussions. The principal text used for the forum will be the Orbis Sensualium Pictus, of Johannes Amos Comenius (Jan Amos Komensky), a 17th century illustrated guide to conversational Latin. All Materials will be provided in PDF.

Because there are no graded assessments, students will not receive a grade or credit for participation. All assignments are meant for group discussion and conversation, but students will not receive a grade for them. Click here for more information about the Memoria Academy Student Clubs and Forums.

Grade Level: 7-12 (ages 12-18)

Prerequisites: None

Required Materials: Students will be engaging actively with other students and so they will need a USB headset microphone and a camera (a built-in camera may also work).

Please note: The Latin Forum will meet twice a month for one semester and will not conflict with meeting times for any other clubs or forums.
