The Literature Forum
Description: The Literature Forum invites students to engage with some of the most influential works in literary history. Through thoughtful reading and guided discussion, students will explore classic works that have shaped cultures and ideas across time. This group is open to all students with a passion for reading and a desire to engage with timeless narratives and themes that shed light on the human condition.
The Forums will meet twice a month for one semester. In the Fall Literature Forum, students will explore Shakespeare’s Comedies Much Ado About Nothing, The Comedy of Errors, and Twelfth Night. In the Spring Literature Forum, students will examine classic Fairy tales, including Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, and Snow White.
Because there are no graded assessments, students will not receive a grade or credit for participation in the Forum. The students may be asked to read a short text for discussion by the group, or a student may be asked to share a writing sample with the group. These assignments are meant for group discussion and conversation, but students will not receive a grade for them. Click here for more information about the Memoria Academy Student Forums.
