Third Form Latin

Description: Third Form Latin continues the journey of Latin grammar started in First and Second Form, but is more focused on translation skills. Grammar and syntax are taught systematically in order to facilitate retention and understanding, and the extensive workbook exercises ensure mastery and rapid recognition. Students will need to devote 45 minutes per day for this class. The grade is based on participation, weekly quizzes, mid-term and final exam. The class is interactive and students will be called upon to recite in class. Prerequisites: Completion of First and Second Form Latin or the equivalent. Students from different Latin programs should see the Second Form table of contents here for what is assumed prior to starting Third Form.

Required Materials: Third Form Latin Student Text, Student Workbook, Workbook Key, and Pronunciation CD. Optional materials: Third Form Latin Flashcards. Students will also need a USB headset microphone (built-in microphones also work).
