Insects

Description: Nature studies are important for students to get to know the world around them both experientially and categorically. The world becomes fascinating for children when they are encouraged and required to take time to observe, contemplate, and commit to memory the details of the world around them. In this course students will learn the orders of insects, metamorphosis, the lives and habits of insects, and more. Students should expect around an hour of work per week outside of class in addition to attempting outdoor observations.

Grade Level: 4-6 (ages 9-12)

Required Materials: The Book of Insects Text, Student Workbook, Teacher Guide, Field Guide, and Flashcards. Students will also need a USB headset (built-in microphones also work).
