Description: As Nazi-occupied Denmark is controlled by Germans bent on destroying the country’s Jewish people, courageous 10-year-old Annemarie Johannesen undertakes a dangerous escape mission to save her best friend Ellen Rosen. Filled with examples of courage, sacrificial love, and loyalty, students will get the chance to see things through Annemarie’s eyes, and to discuss some of the deep questions of life with her as she participates in one of the lesser known stories from World War II, the evacuation of Jews from Nazi-held Denmark.
