Traditional Logic Review

Description: This five-week course will explore the fundamentals of logic, while stressing the importance of deductive reasoning and logical, critical thinking. This course will increase students’ appreciation for logic and help to create an awareness of the importance of logic in reading, listening, and speaking. The content includes logical statements, logical opposition and equivalence, the rules for validity, the traditional valid syllogism forms, and the reduction of syllogisms. During each class, students will construct logical statements and syllogisms with live coaching and will learn to detect both valid and invalid syllogisms.

Grade Level: 8+

Prerequisites: Completion of Traditional Logic I is recommended. This course is not meant to be taken in place of Logic I and Logic II.

Required Materials: Traditional Logic I Student Text and Workbook and Test Key by Memoria Press. Students will also need a headset microphone (built-in microphones will also work).
