Second Form Latin Intensive (Adults)

Description: The Adult Second Form Latin class is being offered to adult learners, homeschool parents, and teachers to build on the foundation laid in First Form Latin. The goal of this course is for adults to continue to learn the foundational elements of this inflected language and to attain enough of a working knowledge of Second Form Latin to confidently lead students in the classroom or at home without needing to immediately “master” all components, per se. Students can enjoy the camaraderie of “being the student” and will benefit from the accountability that comes from a synchronous (live) class, all under the guidance of an expert teacher. Adult students should have completed and have a working knowledge of First Form Latin.

This class is designed for adults and as such will proceed at a rapid pace. If you’ve ever been looking to get ahead of your students in Latin, now is your chance. The class is interactive and attendees will be called upon in class. 

Second Form Latin Translation (Adults)

Description: Adults who would like extra small group translation practice are welcome to join our new, stand-alone translation class! The focus of the class will be for adults taking the Second Form Latin Adult course in the summer of 2024. However, anyone who has completed Second Form Latin (or other comparable Latin program) already may join as well.

The goal of the course is to work on translation only by working with Mrs. Strickland directly on developing this important yet somewhat intimidating skill.

 

The information below applies for both the intensive and translation classes. 

Grade Level: This is a full, compressed class meant only for adults (18+).

Prerequisites: You will be helped if you are familiar with the grammar from First Form Latin. 

Required Materials: Second Form Latin Student Text, Student Guide, and Answer Key. You may use either the student text OR the teacher manual (which includes the student text and extra information). You will also need a USB headset microphone (built-in microphones also work).

Optional Supplements: Students will benefit from the Second Form Latin Pronunciation CD and the First Form Latin Review Book.
